UNICEF charity run
The UNICEF charity run on Wednesday, 26 April 2023, was a complete success for the organizers. In pleasant spring temperatures, around 900 runners took part and gave their all for a good cause. A donation total of €30,000 was raised.
As every year, the run takes place in Klenzepark Ingolstadt. Our athletic running team, consisting of 17 runners, was also at the start. They showed their best performances and ran lap after lap. They covered a distance of approx. 750 meters per lap. In total, they achieved a total of 160 rounds and thus a donation amount of €1,600 (€10 per round).
For us, the UNICEF charity run is already part of our annual planning. We are therefore all the more pleased that, year after year, we raise a considerable amount of money with a motivated team and thus do good. We would like to thank our runners and are already looking forward to next year!
UNICEF donation targets
Half of the donations this year went to UNICEF’s “Hunger” campaign. This campaign aims to improve the situation in many countries around the world affected by famine. Children in particular are suffering from life-threatening malnutrition and urgently need help. Years of drought, the consequences of climate change, wars and conflicts as well as the coronavirus pandemic have made the scale of the emergency a major challenge.
The second part of this year’s donation went to UNICEF earthquake relief in Syria and Turkey. The earthquakes at the beginning of the year caused major damage in the regions there.
A big thank you also goes to the UNICEF Ingolstadt working group, who organize the charity run year after year and help children all over the world with their work.
